In a flash, the world ended…
But the supernatural Apocalypse wasn’t like any of the religious texts prophesied.
The battles of Armageddon ended in a stalemate. The high-demons that set at the feet of Lucifer’s throne were either killed or escaped into other realms. Likewise, powerful archangels abandoned humanity to the desolate world left in ruins of the Apocalypse.
In the wastelands of Earth, the risen dead, called ghouls, roamed the land in search of living flesh, lower-level demons searched for souls to possess, and human warlords, their depravity challenging even the minions of Hell, carve out their own authoritarian fiefdoms in the aftermath of humanity.
But some survived, enclaves of civilization remained, holed-up in fortified camps called Citadels. Protecting the final remnants of humankind where the anointed ones. In the early days of the Apocalypse, the archangels granted some humans special powers in preparation for the coming battles. the vigilant Guardians were given incredible strength and anointed swords, capable of killing all but high-demons. Brash, aggressive Rangers, with their cloaks of invisibility, scoured the land for intelligence and survivors. The leaders of these Citadels were the Bishops, with the power to exercise demons from their human hosts. Finally, the most power of the super-humans were the Relic Holders. Given vestiges of incredible supernatural power, their strength rivaled all but the most-powerful creatures of the Apocalypse.
But when powerful entities, thought long-gone, reemerge in search of a girl with incredible abilities. As they scour the wastelands of Earth for her, the Guardian Luka, Relic Holder Jessica, and their companions must face the forces of Hell to protect her.
The histories of these humans were recorded in the Third Testament.
